Don't Judge a Book by its Cover.  I literally unearthed this book  by Wilson Rawls with torn covers from piles of old things considered thrash by a neighbor.

When I started reading it, I was engrossed that I finished it in one sitting.  Not only thrice that I cried. It's the best story of a boy and dogs that I read.  And I just love these man's best friends - dogs! 

When i searched the net later, i found out that it was made into a film when I was only about three years old. (lol!)
